Just Yesterday

Just yesterday I was dreaming of becoming a family.

Today we are five strong.

Just yesterday I bought my first pack of baby clothes hangers.

Today she uses the same ones as me.

Just yesterday I was bathing her on the kitchen counter.

Today she ditches the bath and independently takes a shower.

Just yesterday I didn’t go back to work and needed to stay with her every moment I could.

Today she’s off to kindergarten and I’ll get less moments each year.

Just yesterday she sprouted her first tooth.

Today she got her first wiggly one.

Just yesterday I was her entire world.

Today she’s discovering the world on her own.
